This gentle and effective face mask only requires one ingredient, and your skin will thank you for it.

Italian food is known for its commitment to simple and high-quality ingredients to create flavorful dishes - but did you know that Italians apply the same philosophy to their beauty and skincare routines? Similar to Giada's beloved olive oil and rice flour scrub, she let us in on another one of her skincare secrets: honey masks!

Inspired by her mom and Nonna, Giada loves to embrace traditional Italian beauty secrets by emphasizing the use of pure, edible ingredients that are gentle yet effective. Honey is an incredible ingredient in skincare: it's a natural humectant, which means it helps to attract and retain moisture in the skin while forming a protective barrier. It's antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants, gentle, brightening - the list goes on and on.

While just about any honey will work for this beauty ritual, using something minimally processed and organic is key for the maximum health benefits for your skin. For the true spa experience, Giada adores eucalyptus honey, which has many of the same properties of the plant its extracted from. Eucalyptus is well known for its cooling effect on skin that can alleviate minor irritations, giving this honey a super boost of skin healing power. The aroma alone is invigorating and refreshing, making it easy to channel the relaxing spa vibes.

Once a week or as needed, Giada loves to end the day with a nourishing honey mask. It's as simple as can be: take a bit of honey into the palm of your hand. If it's particularly crystallized or sticky, you can warm it up in your palms for a moment. Gently spread the honey over your face, and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Even though honey is sticky, it comes off easily with warm water - and you can admire the immediate healthy glow!
